You may think luxury homes are somewhat immune to economic downturns. But that’s not the case. One of the common housing trends is the McMansion. We sincerely hope that trend has ended, or has at least been curtailed a bit. McMansions were characterized by houses that were over-sized for their lots, grand pretentious foyers and lots of interior volume, big rooms and rooms that saw little use. It’s right in line with the old architectural debate of style vs substance. Instead, we believe a home should quite versatile. The core living and bedroom wings should be appropriately proportioned and easy to heat and cool. The ideal home expands, as needed, to welcome guests and entertain them.
